Before I sold my soul, as some put it, to programming I got myseld a philosophy degree at UT. And right before I switched over to loving computers instead of abstract thought, I really got enamored with this book. As I recall, it seemed to articulate where my thinking got to after 4 years of reading a pile of philosophy.

So, I was pretty excited to listen to this episode of the RU Sirius Show, with Richard Rorty. It actually made me think to myself, "man, why am I wasting my time with this programming crap?"...but only for a few milli-seconds ;>
