I gave Mozilla Thunderbird a try a few weeks ago when I ran into the disappearing mail phenomenon, and had to switch back to Outlook. This is for work mail ofcourse - I'm a firm believer in web-based mail for personal email. I recently came back from vacation, and had a similar problem trying out Flickr. I added captions to the JPEG images using Picasa2 (saved as EXIF data) and uploaded the images to Flickr using the Flickr Uploadr.
