We've been using XACML (ZAK-uh-MIL) to implement security policies in our application. XACML is another esoteric OASIS spec with big promise in the XML-everywhere future. We're been using an open source implementation of the spec, and things have been working out well for the most part. While working with this stuff, a recurring theme has been the development of custom insfrastructure code for XACML. The loading/configuring/clustering stuff. The kind of thing that people would productize and sell as some sort of server. Which makes me wonder what the vendors are...
