Computerworld has a nice piece on a San Diego startup offering to house programmers on a cruise ship 3 miles off San Diego. They're calling it nearshoring. It doesn't interest me as a potential employee, but if I were a client it would be intriguing. Here in DC, a good chunk of the software development work is government related so outsourcing has been less of a conversation item than in private sector companies....
