Well it appears that well versed experts in the mobile device area come to the same conclusion I come to in this CommsDesign article. Mobile device vendors are pusing applications to differentiate their handsets and using J2ME to accompish this feat. The next shoe to drop is when, not if, Microsoft will license J2ME on its own rebranded SmartPhones.
