I have been observing the responsiveness of the RCP+SWT combination in RSSOwl when compared to such swing UI enabled applicaiotns as Limewire and can say that there is no comparison as the RCP+SWT combination blows swing right out of the water. Before the Swing group reacts, my system is 512 Megs Ram and 833 MHZ.

But, what be the perfect way to show off this new combination?

We know that amoung the largest group of new java develoopers, ie new J2ME developers, the common complaint is no emualtor for their favorite device. While we can cusotmize the SUN WTK or skin it as its commonly reerred to that only solves part of the problem.

What would if we RCPize the Sun WTK? In other words provide a bae new RCPized WTK that is customizeable. Would this allow the Asian OEMs to increase connections between them and J2ME application developers by allowing faster customization of an emulator and maybe increase the amount of emualtors being provided by J2ME device OEMs?

Obvious obstacles are does the SUN WTK License allow an outsider to complete this in a cost effective manner as FOSS licensed project in and/or both commercial and nonprofit situation? On platforms such as Qualcomm's Brew and SymbianOS would we be allowed to integrate with that code base to have thenew simualtor bne RCP based in a FOSS licensed manner?

Something to ponder, no?
