Yesterday, Thu. April 28, around noon, FedEx delivered the long awaited box from Apple. After coming home from work I spent quite a bit of time backing-up my Work-, Home-, and Documents folders. I filled more DVDs with the iTunes and iPhoto libraries. Before starting any upgrade process, I had also de-authorized the Mac with the iTunes music store.

Upgrade?
I tried the Archive and Install option first and after not even 10 minutes was greeted by Tiger. However, after seeing all my apps in the Applications folder I quickly changed my mind. This was not the time to do a quick and dirty upgrade. I started over, using the Erase and Install option.

Install
This time it took about 12 minutes and after filling out the registration screens I started with a clean as can be Mac OS 10.4.

First Things First
Since it was already past midnight, I had to make a quick choice, what to install before calling it quits.

Theodore
I installed IntelliJ Idea, pulled the Theodore Code and the few required libs, compiled and ran the famous Theodore Thinlet Editor.
YES, it works great on Tiger.
