Once again MSMobiles is attempting to
spread FUD in the marketplace with this post. The problem with the
conclusion that one must use anything other than J2ME for development on
the SmartPhones powered by Ms SmartphoneOS is not delaing with reality.
Currently 85% of all SmartPhone MS Powered deployments in consumer hands
run J2ME as pre-installed.
Second point, even in MSMobiles own
posts consumers ask for J2ME apps when they get a MS Powered SmartPhone;
MiTac's own SmartPhone powered by MS is a good example of that trenad. So
why would I as developer risk learning something non J2Me that is labour
intensive for just 15% of the SmartPhone MS powered market when my
objective as Mobile device application developer is to have the lowest dev
costs with the highest deployment ratio accross all mobile devices?
Sounds like MSMobiles should talk to real Mobile Device Application
Developers to get better informed.
