Original Post: OrindaBuild Creates Java That Connects Oracle To Apache Axis
Feed Title: OrindaBlog - Orinda Software's Corporate Blog
Feed URL: http://www.jroller.com/rss/orindasoft
Feed Description: We're in the business of creating products that make it easier to work with Oracle, Java and JDBC. We want this blog to be something more than a stream of product-related propaganda - our intention is two-thirds of the content will be of general relevance to people who work with Oracle, Java and PL/SQL. Entries to this blog will be made as and when we have information that we think our readers would be interested in.
As a rule we try and avoid blatant product plugs but today marks the release of a new version of OrindaBuild. As the title suggests it takes your existing PL/SQL procedures and a directory full of your SQL statements and creates all the classes needed to turn them into an Apache Axis Web Service. It does this without requiring any appreciable amount of effort on your part. The code isn't specific to Axis - it can be used for pretty much anything.
I have too much respect for my audience to inflict the Press Release on you so instead I'll suggest that you do one of the following:
If you aren't feeling energetic you could get a cup of coffee and watch a 3 minute Flash Presentation.
If you want to see the generated service implementation code you could check
here.
All of the generated code in our example is available here.
You could always read the documentation, but that would take all the fun out of downloading it and seeing for yourself...
This release has occupied us full time for months. It's been a long, hard haul and I and all the other developers are glad it's finished. We're proud of what we've done and reckon that at US$499 for a perpetual licence customers are getting a bargain when you consider it can automate weeks of work on a large project.
Companies and press releases are a bit like Swans - Outwardly all looks calm and serence while below the water line all hell is breaking lose. As soon as all the launch related fuss dies down I'm taking a few days off and then we'll make sure OrindaBuild works with other Web Services products before starting on our Plugin for JDeveloper 10g 10.1.3.
