Management is both a science and an art. It is the artful practice of management using all the scientific tools available/necessary that matters. The skill that would be necessary would be to think with one's head (scientifically) and to act with one's heart (with feeling).
Confusion arises when one starts to think with the heart and feel with the head; a sure prescription for disaster.
