Hello,
How can i write a java program that retrieve the acounts from the windows 2000 server active directory?
is it possible? if yes, are there any methods or classes to do this and what is the nature of the active directory data? is it a relational database of what?

Look at the connectors on the http://developer.java.sun.com
There is one to connect to the M$ environment !
Please note that LDAP is the proper way to do it !

LDAP : Lightweight Directory Access Protocole

A standartized protocole to access a directoy (yellow page / white page) repository.
