Since starting my own business [going solo], I rarely discuss design techniques outside the walls of the hiring firm requiring my services. Therefore I miss out on discussions about programming/design trends that tend to keep most non-solo programmers in the loop.

What are the trends where Java Applets are concerned?

Has there been a up swing in their use?

Have any of you been using this Java feature more to add functionality to web pages?

I talk to others in forums and chats and most appear to be students just learning... Are professional Java programmers doing more with Java applets? I use them quite a bit... but I don't see to many others....?
