Hi all,

Can some one answer why does an MDB be declared only with either Required or NotSupported transaction attributes and not with other attributes?

thanks,
Srinivas.

Because an MDB is inherently at the begining of a new transaction since it begins life with the arrival of a new message.

An MDB cannot be invoked from another EJB, and therefor it would not make any sense to offer any of the other transactional attributes.

At the begining of an MDB invokation the only options are start a transaction (Required) or proceed without a transaction (Not Supported).
