how to read thread dumps

how to understand the following headings in the thread dumps?

ex.1
ListenThread" prio=5 tid=0x917908 nid=0x51 runnable [0xbfa01000..0xbfa019d8]
ex.2
NBExecuteThread-1" daemon prio=5 tid=0x97cfe8 nid=0x4c waiting on monitor [0xbfe01000..0xbfe019d8]

what do nid and prio stand for? what do those numbers after monitor refer to? Is there any relationship between those numbers in ex.1 and ex.2? Since we did not see any "locked object" in the thread dumps, it is hard for us to tell which thread was waiting on which lock held by which running thread(we had many running threads and waiting threads)?

Thanks for any help on this
