i installed TextPad and J2SE(j2sdk1.4.1) on my computer( the OS is win2000). but when i open TextPad, under the Tool menu, there are no "compile java" and "Run java application" these submenu. (but when i installed these two software on Win98, no such problems). ANYBODY KNOWS IT, PLEASE TELL ME! thanks a lot!

May be you installed TextPad before you installed JDK and at the point of installation it didnt find the JDK directory to configure itself???

Hi, for those people who looked at my this question:
i just found the answer that is you need to click the Preferences submenu under the Configure menu, then choose the tools, you will see a button called "Add", then just need to choose the command and pick the java commands. then solve it!
hope it can help those people who met the same problem as me.

cheers
