Is there any different between Base Class and Parent Class

My understanding of Base Class vs Parent Class is as follows

public class A
{
}
 
public class B extends A
{
}
 
public class C extends B
{
}

A is the base class for B and C. A is the parent class for B and B is the parent class for C.
