A Unix Question Posted: Aug 11, 2004 6:09 AM

I don't use Unix often (hence my not seeking out a Unix forum somewhere, in the first instance).

The following Unix command "ls -l" gives a verbose listing of the contents of the current directory including the last update month and day. I am looking at some old files so I also need the last update year.

Does anyone know how this can be done?

Thanks,
Vince.

A quick Google answered my own question (should have done that first, I guess) not to mention the fact that I should have spotted that the information being displayed was what I was looking for.

Unix command "ls -l" listings include:
"mmm dd hh:mm" for the current year and
"mmm dd yyyy" for other years

Vince.
