What is Rich Client? Can anyone explain what it actually
means?

Rich client, I think it is also considered as Thick clients. Most of the time browsers are said to be thin clients. Since if an application uses browser as the interface, like Amazon or eBay these are thin client based applications.

Sometime application uses thick clients. That is a desktop client being used to connect to the server.
