Hi everyone,

For a device, for example handphone, to be Java-enabled, what actually are the requirements?

In essence, what does it take or what a device needs to support Java?

2nd question:
Is a Java-embedded system the same as a Java-enabled device?

many grateful thanks in advance

hi
Coming to your first question:

For a device to be java enabled you need to have the Java Runtime Environment(JRE) which consists of class libraries and a virtual machine to execute an java programs (like applets) in your hand phone.

Java enabling means having the JRE in your hand phone that can play applets which delivers dynamic content, animations etc..

Coming to your last question if JRE is embedded in your device then your device is said to be java enabled.

Hope this is clear.

Sarma
