My program will not compile on a different pc

I installed J2SE 1.4.2 SDK on a pc at work and this is what happens when I try to compile it:

C:\Exp001>compile

C:\Exp001>javac TeName\*.java
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/tools/javac/M
ain

C:\Exp001>jar cfm teachername.jar teachername.mf TeName\*.class
TeName\*.class : no such file or directory

C:\Exp001>


This program works fine at home why does it not work at work.

When you save your program did u save it in your compiler bin. Thats why you probably can't find the class when you compile it.....

What happens when you type:

java -version

and

java -help

Make sure your JAVA_HOME points to your j2sdk1.4 folder!!!

I know Tomcat and some other servers reffers to JAVA_HOME, however from when a java and javac reffered to JAVA_HOME??? In the JDK installation there is no mention about having a JAVA_HOME enviornment varibale right???
