Newbie on Java

Hello guys...i've got a few stuffs here that i cant seem to find the answers on the net, so please do help to answer this if you know...I know nuthin bout java, but im learin' :)

1: When was JAVA created?
2: What does it stands for?
3: Why the name? (although from my research i've found out that its because one of the programmers was drinking cofee and hence the name JAVA...don't know bout the validity though..Guys?)
4: Was it created solely to be used on the internet?
